For the first time, a combined New South Wales Ministry Event was held with pastors from North New South Wales, Greater Sydney and South New South Wales Conferences. The pastors gathered on 2-5 February 2014 at Avondale College for a professional development conference on Radical Leadership. The session was led by Dr. Stan Patterson, Chair of the Department of Christian Ministry & Associate Professor of Christian Ministry at Andrews University, Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary. Dr. Patterson challenged participants to rethink conventional ways of leading churches and ministries. Sessions included topics, such as “Leadership & the Great Controversy: The Up Path,” “Let’s Talk: Interactive Conversation on Leadership Issues in the SDA Church” and “Christian Leadership: A Holistic Model.”
On Monday 3 February, pastors gathered for local conference meetings. During this time, the Greater Sydney Conference gathered to discuss the visions and goals of the conference and to introduce the Conference’s new strategic plan, which challenges members to “Reach Up, Reach Out and Reach Across.”
