Kukudu Adventist College

Last evening the Solomon Island Education Support committee (SIESC) met to review what had been accomplished in the Solomons this year and to plan for next year.

During that last nine years or so, the SIESC has raised over $1,000,000 dollars from people all over the country. Many schools in the Solomons, particularly bush schools, have been blessed by these funds.

This year, a team from Hills Adventist College (HAC), along with tradesmen on the committee, erected a Dining Room Kitchen at Tenakoga School to seat more than 300 students. Other contributions to this project include roofing sponsored by a couple in Queensland, $13,500 in kitchen supplies raised by MacQuarie College and more. The HAC team also completed the library, which concluded SIESC’s major infrastructure work at this school.

For 2018, plans are to erect a Dining Room Kitchen at Puzivai, Choiseul. This will be quite an expensive project as the committee will have to trans-ship from Honiara to Choiseul.  There’s more.

Kukudu Adventist College contacted SIESC a little while ago in great need of a tractor.  This school has 520 students and their tractor–which is over 40-years old–has given up the ghost.  “We have been looking for a tractor now for some months”, says Alex S Currie. “Brett Partridge sourced one at Gunnedah and had a farmer check it out.  God provided the $27,500 in an amazing way and it is now in Sydney waiting for shipment.”

Because Greater Sydney Conference (GSC) partners with the Solomon Islands, the committee has sought our help to provide the funds to purchase a container (about $2,400) and cover its shipping to Noro, which will cost approximately another $8,000.  Now we need your help.

GSC has committed to matching dollar-for-dollar up to $5,200 to purchase a container and pay for shipping.  Can you help us raise $5,200 to get this tractor to the Kukudu Adventist College?
