Vanuatu-Carmen-1Carmen can’t stop smiling. It’s infectious!  Walking into her temporary home – a classroom – she’s excited to show her new items: rice, milk powder and other items.

“Thank you ADRA,” she whispers.

Carmen is one of the more than 1,200 people ADRA has assisted at evacuation centres in Port Villa. Read more about her Cyclone Pam experience here.

In the last 48 hours, ADRA has worked with the National Disaster Management Office to provide tarpaulins to allow people to return home and begin rebuilding. Plus, we’re about to distribute emergency food supplies, water and hygiene kits, and shelter supplies to 6,000 people. This comes in addition to the hygiene kits and food we provided immediately after Cyclone Pam struck. This is only possible as a result of your support. If you haven’t already, please donate online now or call us on 1800 242 372. Thank you for your commitment to helping the communities most affected by this disaster to recover and thrive in the long term.
