Students from Adventist schools in Greater Sydney and North New South Wales met at Fox Valley Seventh-day Adventist Community Church, Wahroonga, for a combined band experience.
For most of the Year 3-6 students this is a rare opportunity to experience being a part of the ‘big sound’ of a large band. “Music is a big part of education and this experience can really encourage and inspire young musicians to continue learning,” says Education Director, Dr Jean Carter. “It’s also a good opportunity for them to work together as a team and support each other. Many of these students attend our annual Band Camp, which is held at Crosslands Youth and Convention Centre, where they really get to explore their potential. It’s exciting to see these young musicians flourish and grow.”
The students played a range of pieces from different genres, including concert band music and spiritual/worship music.
