For the past three years the Bankstown Church has invested in their young people by sending them out under the Storm Co (Service To Others Really Matters Company) banner to run a Kid’s Club for children aged 5-12 years old and carry out service projects in Taree, Mid North Coast, New South Wales.

More than 200 children attended this years Kid’s Club, many of them from an Indigenous background and returning from previous years. The children enjoyed the school holiday program from 9am to 12pm, where Bible points were reinforced daily through fun games, activities, and songs. The team coped extremely well with the 200 enthusiastic children, daily temperatures exceeding 30 degrees, and the challenge of another church group running a holiday club at the same time.

During the week, the team spent the afternoon carrying out community service activities such as gardening, moving furniture, and clearing backyards. On Sabbath, the team visited the Taree Seventh-day Adventist Church where they led out in Sabbath School and in the church service. In the afternoon the team visited several nursing homes where they sang hymns and visited with the elderly. The team was encouraged by the stories that were shared by the elderly and their welcoming spirit.

Bankstown Church is already looking forward to Storm Co 2014!
