Pr Phil Yates will be moving out of the Greater Sydney Conference Youth Department next year to a new appointment.

From Pr Phil:  “This decision has been very prayerfully considered and, I believe, led by God. Firstly, I want to thank all the advisories that have worked tirelessly serving the Greater Sydney Conference in their areas. The way you have supported me in this ministry is outstanding. I cannot express enough gratitude; the way you care and show the love of Jesus to those you serve in the GSC.

Secondly, I want to thank Simon, Linda and the GSC conference staff and leaders. I just love these people and the support they have shown me. It is with a heavy heart that I step out of this role but have confidence that whoever replaces me will be amazing.”

Replacing Phil will be Pr Moses Depaz

Moses Depaz, Associate Youth Director

Hello, our family and I have been blessed to serve the local church in Western Australia for the past 7 years. I served as a Chaplain to the families at the Victoria Park Christian school along with the Spanish Church located on campus. I enjoyed serving alongside Pr Douw Ventor at our Vic Park Church, where we later moved to the Midwest-Gascoyne Region to serve as the Regional Minister to the churches there. Over the course of time I’ve also enjoyed working with the Camp Planning Committee to aid in the planning and execution of Easter Camp for the WA Conference.

The Depaz family is excited to join the GSC Team to serve within the Youth department. We are grateful towards all the former Youth Leaders the conference has had in past and acknowledge their impact in aiding a spiritual journey for the Youth of Sydney, one which has had a positive effect for both Gez and I during our formative years as youth.

Blessings.

Moses, Gez, Ezekiel (10), Noah (7), and Abel (2).

I am very excited about the opportunity to work as part of the Greater Sydney Conference Educational team alongside David Hobson, as we work to continue to strengthen the schools in Sydney and South NSW.  I look forward to getting to visit each of the schools and getting to know the staff and offer support as needed.”
