The Castle Hill Rotary Club has named Ms Tennille Smith, a teacher at Hills Adventist College, as an awardee of the Excellence in Teaching Award for 2013. The criteria used by the Castle Hill Rotary Club in selection of the awardees are: outstanding educator; goes beyond the call of duty; has made a difference in many lives; and deserves to be recognised by the community.
Ms Smith was nominated by parents and supported by the College administration. Ms Smith is recognised for her commitment to her students as a Mathematics teacher and for her role as the Director of Studies at the College.
Ms Smith was presented with her award at a special dinner at the Castle Hill Country Club on 20 March 2013.
Ms Smith was called to work at Hills Adventist College to help establish the new senior school at Kellyville, which commenced in 2010. She previously taught at Mountain View Adventist College. Ms Smith received her Bachelor of Education (Mathematics, Computing and Geography) from Avondale College.
